Assalamualaikum and Hello!

I've been posting quite a few of these activities I've been doing with Khadeejah on Instagram recently and I realised I should be documenting these on my blog as well. Some of these ideas I got from Pinterest and some was just a spur of the moment idea.

Colour sorting pom-poms in an egg tray

What you need:
Pom-pom balls
An egg tray
A toy spoon or a pair of tongs (Optional)

A really simple colour sorting game, just put in one different coloured pom-pom in each egg cup and ask your toddler to sort out the rest according to the colour. You may ask him/her to use a spoon for scooping them in and out or practice using tongs to pick it up and drop it in. Khadeejah loves using her toy spoon to scoop the little pom-poms!

Matching popsicles with coloured popsicle sticks

What you need:
Paper
Colour pencils/crayons
Coloured popsicle sticks

Caution: May invoke toddler to crave for ice-cream.

Fun and easy colour matching game. Read out the colours of each popsicle and ask him/her to match the stick to the popsicle.

Matching coloured sticks on coloured paper

What you need:
Coloured paper
Coloured popsicle sticks

This one is pretty straightforward but still a lot of fun!

Matching pom-poms to the balloon

What you need:
Pom-pom balls
Paper
Colour pencils/crayon

Another colour matching activity. This is one of Khadeejah's faves cos she's obsessed with balloons!

Shoebox colour sorting game

What you need:
Old shoe box
Coloured paper
Tape
Glue
Scissors
Coloured popsicle sticks
Knife/cutter

This one took a bit of effort but so much fun to play with. First I cut up some small pieces of coloured paper then stuck it on to the top of the shoebox. Then taped it up. I then poked the slots for the sticks to go in using a cutter. Ready to play! Ask your toddler to insert the popsicle sticks into its matching slot.

Colour matching stickers

What you need:
Colourful stickers
paper
colour pencils/crayons/markers

Simply draw some circles with each colour on a piece of paper and get them to stick the coloured stickers accordingly. I love this one from Mr DIY that has emojis on it, Khadeejah finds it funny and started sticking them on my face!

Coloured bowls sorting game

What you need:
IKEA colourful bowls
coloured sticks/ pom poms/ any coloured item small enough to fit in the bowl

Another straightforward sorting activity.

Let me know if you get to do these activities with your little one and if you have any ideas to share on toddler activities, please let me know!
